50 Years Later: A Pike Alumnus Remembers the JFK Assassination

On November 22, 1963, Pike students were informed of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in the basement of the school’s former location.

I thought to myself for some strange reason: ‘Great! They have found a treasure chest under the front steps of the school.’ But instead, his next words were: ‘The President of the United States has been assassinated.’
